Threading Hair Removal Method

Hair Removal Through the Threading Method

The threading method is also referred to as the khite hair removal method. Khite is the Arabic name for it while it fatlah means the same thing in the Egyptian language. Although this method is rarely used in the U.S. and the rest of the western countries, it is popular on the other parts of the world.

The method is performed by holding a thread of cotton with the practitioner's teeth on one end and with the left hand on the other end. The middle part of the thread is looped over the index finger and the middle finger of the practitioner's right hand. Only threads with 100% cotton composition are used.

The same looped formed on the middle finger is the one that is used to trap all the unwanted hairs in order to pull them out. Certain devices may be needed to help hold the thread in place throughout the procedure.

A simpler threading procedure involves the twisting of the thread over the area where hair is to be removed. The same trapping concept is utilized. Twisting the thread traps the hair. Then slowly, it is pulled out removing all the hair in the process. The threading hair removal method is a rather delicate process. But being so, it suits your equally delicate skin.

Hair is removed from its roots with the yanking of the thread. This procedure is used mostly on facial hair, usually on the eyebrows. It can cost as low as $5 for every treatment. It can cost more than that on larger areas.

The method is supposed to have started in Turkey. This hair removal procedure is practiced generally in the Middle Eastern region including India. Women from these nations learn the threading hair removal process at a very young age. Think of the first time you learned how to braid. It's basically the same time as that. Threading hair removal is actually an ancient art.

The threading hair removal method is used to remove hairs from the upper lip, the chin, the cheeks, and at the sideburns. In the West, this procedure is only performed in Indian and Muslim-owned salons within the same neighborhood.

Threading hair removal has many advantages. For one thing, it costs less. The only thing needed for this procedure is a good piece of thread. And you can buy these at a rather cheap price. It is a fast and neat way to remove hair. It is surely worthy to be tried.

Threading hair removal may involve pain. But it is still not as painful as the other procedures, like plucking. It works best on eyebrows and the rest of the facial hairs. The results can last for as long as one month.

Another good side of threading is that it produces finer and sparser hair after a series of regular treatments. The whole procedure does not peel off the skin so it is not traumatized in the process.

But it could be real hard to find somebody who is a professional for the job. On some states, a special license is needed from cosmetologists and aestheticians for them to perform the procedure.

For a complete listing of salons that offer threading, check the local Yellow Pages. Specialized spas and beauty centers should be able to accommodate you for your required threading session. The method also provides for good eyebrow shape and a cleaner removed hairline.

The threading hair removal procedure may cause itching and redness on the skin. These are the common side effects, but its severity comes in different degrees. On worse cases, folliculitis can occur. Folliculitis is an infection in the follicles of the hair caused by bacteria. It is can also cause puffiness and changes in the skin's coloring.

Threading hair removal is certainly a good alternative to the traditional way of removing unwanted hairs. It is especially effective on facial hair where bleaching, tweezing, and plucking may not be advisable.

Now, you have an option. If you are still wondering how the process of removing hair through threading works, call one of the salons that have the service today. You will be amazed as to how effective and preferable this method will be to you.
